because if they made the pimpest, most classic styled, and unique shoes and sold them cheaply they couldnt compete in a market where the shoe styles change every year…no one would buy shoes for 350 and up if you could get real nice shoes for 50 or 75 in the same seasons model…its much like automobiles, if they sold you a car that got 50 mpg and was gorgeous to look at and drive,and required hardly any maintenance no one would spend over a hundred for a luxury auto…the american car makers could have did that for us years ago but would have ruined the market…

You are exactly right. It is because they look good. Golfers always want to look good, even if there game is not. So when a new model of shoes, clubs, clothing, etc. it is always raised. Companies know that golfers may not be good, but they always want to look like they are good. Therefore it creates a supply-in-demand. Golfers don’t care about the price, they just want to look the best in there group.

Why should you care what they look like. You walk on them, nothing more, nothing less.

You’re right…it’s always been that way with golf shoes. The FootJoy Classics, which are super cool looking, can get up in the $200-$300 range, but man are those bad azz or what? I’ve found some good looking Nike’s and Adidas in the $75 to $100 range that are pretty cool looking. I saw a few good closeout deals on GolfShoesOnly.com…check em out!

I got a nice pair of Adidas for just over $20. I’ve seen pretty cheap shoes at rockbottomgolf.com and tgw.com. Way under $85 for Nike or Adidas
